The Bocce Grand Prix of Sidney will be back Saturday, July 22nd.  Team entry fees before June 1st are $100.00 and team entry fees after June 1st will be $125.00. All play is governed by the Sidney Bocce League.

Starting at 8:30 a.m. on the South Side of the Square the Captains will have a meeting. The game begins at 9:00 a.m. and the final round will begin at 1:30 p.m. An hour lunch will be held at noon.

Money prizes will be awarded to those who come in 1st-$1500.00, 2nd-$750.00, 3rd-$400.00, and 4th-$100.00.

Each team will need to bring a set of balls. The semi-finals will use 107 mm balls.

All decisions by the commissioner are final.

Raise the Roof for the Arts present a night filled with fun and music suited for the whole family.

The last concert of the summer will feature: Commander Cody with special guest The Eric Sowers Band and local favorite Kevin and The Others.

Look in any book on the history of rock and roll and you will find Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen. Among many other achievements this 8-piece super band’s album “Deep in the Heart of Texas” is one of Rolling Stone magazine’s top 100 albums of all time.

Raise the Roof for the Arts present two more nights this summer filled with fun and music suited for the whole family.

Tonight’s Headliner will feature: Carter Winter with special guest Josh Melton and local favorite Timmy G and Company.

Carter Winter is quickly becoming one of the most sought after talents in the Midwest and is gaining national recognition along the way. Known for his true natural country vocal tone, a creative writing style and an incredible work ethic, Carter is definitely an artist to watch. With his rich, traditional country vocal and compelling live performance, Carter has gained recognition from some of the biggest names in country music and shared the stage with artists such as Sam Hunt, Chase Rice and Travis Tritt.

Raise the Roof for the Arts and Sidney Alive have collaborated to present three nights filled with fun and music suited for the whole family.  Located in the parking lot behind the Sidney Historic Theatre and Sidney Post Office, the block party will begin selling food and beverages at 5:30 p.m.

Our first concert will feature : Blessid Union of Souls with special guest Kala Rose & Saving Escape and local favorite Monkey Wrench 

Blessid Union of Souls , of Morrow, Ohio, is known for their popular hits like “I Believe” and “Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me for Me)” and brings great energy and excitement to the stage.

Saving Escape is a rock band comprised of late teen players and fronted by vocalist Kala Rose. Their sound is a mix of bluesy riffs, thunderous bass and drums, and penetrating vocals.

The Hometown Proud 5k will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the Fun Run will begin at 9:00 a.m. At the starting location race day registration will be from 7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.

The 3rd Annual Area Cares 5K walk/run will be held rain or shine on Saturday May 19th, 2018 at Tawawa Park in Sidney, Ohio. The park is located at 12 Tawawa Drive on the east side of Sidney. The course is generally flat with some gently rolling hills on paved surfaces.  The event will begin at 8:15 a.m. and the course closes at 9:45 a.m. Awards will be given to the top three finishers overall in the male and female categories. The course is a 3.1 mile loop with an out and back section and finishes at the park pavilion. Timing is provided by Can’t Stop Running in Piqua, Ohio. Strollers are welcome as this is a family event. No registration is needed for children in a stroller. Register by April 30th, 2018 to guarantee shirt & medal. Registration ends May 16th at 11:59 p.m. Price for participating is $20.00.
