Enjoy the sights, tastes, sounds, and aromas of an Historic Downtown Sidney Christmas complete with horse & carriage rides. It’s a great time to shop local and finish up those Christmas lists too! Check out the beautifully decorated store windows… Enjoy a cup of piping hot chocolate… and how about a yummy Christmas cookie too?

Don’t be surprised to be joined by past residents of the City who want to share their stories as we walk the streets of downtown Sidney. Tours will be lead by the Shelby County Historical Society.

Tour stops this year include visits to The Cameo Theatre, The Old Shelby County Jail, and the Masonic Lodge.

Walking tours begin at 6:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.

Tickets required. Members $10 and Non-Members $12. Students K thru 12 $8.

The Historical Society will lead an Open Door Tour of six historic churches in downtown Sidney. This walking tour will review the history of downtown churches still standing and those too that are today only a memory. Tours begin at 2:00, 2:30, 3:00, and 3:30 p.m. Tickets required. Members $10 and Non-Members $15.

The Shelby County Historical Society and Tactical Solutions Firearms proudly presents The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre Display and Presentation. This is a rare chance to see the two infamous Tommy Guns used in the massacre and hear the story behind them. Admission is free however, donations will be accepted at the door and will benefit the Sidney American Legion and Shelby County Historical society.

The Sidney Dance Company proudly presents another astonishing performance, coming this January! They will be performing the ballet of Cinderella at the Sidney High School January 13th at 7:00 p.m., January 14th at 2:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m., and January 15th at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.sidneytheatre.com, and at the door. The Shelby County Fair has been a “must attend” since 1860. Join your friends and family to enjoy the games, rides, and of course that scrumptious fair food! Featured throughout the week is a Pig & Calf Scramble, Diesel Drag Racing, Demolition Derby, Tractor Pulls, Jr. Fair exhibits, the All American Petting Zoo, and a variety of live musical performances.

The Sidney First Presbyterian Church presents the Annual Christmas Concert, featuring the Swing Era Big Band. On December 3rd at 7:00 p.m. come in an enjoy the joyous sound of Christmas Music.

Come join the fun at Ron and Nita’s from December 1st until December 8th. Starting each night at 6:30 p.m. and ending at 7:30 p.m. the story “The Night Before Christmas” will be told every night. So come in your comfiest and fluffiest PJ’s, because the Holiday Spirit is in the air.

On December 10th the Shelby County Fairgrounds will be hosting a Community Christmas Dinner. They will be serving between 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Reservations for home delivery must be no later than Wednesday, December 7th by 4:00 p.m.
