This year’s Independence Day celebration in Sidney will be one to remember for years to come. Planned activities include a concert at Sidney High School performed by the Sidney Civic Band and a fireworks display like no other in our community. Make plans to attend this celebration of our country’s independence and the 200th birthday of Sidney.

Fireworks rain date July 5th.

The Sidney Civic Band will perform at 9:00 pm behind the High School at the tennis courts with fireworks to follow at 10:00 pm

There’s a derelict space station near the edge of the galaxy. It was empty until Fishface Pesco from the Gillyx system opened “The Tavern at the End of the Universe” to serve as a stopover for the assorted nomads wandering in space. Some of them are strangely familiar to us Earthlings!

They include antiquated spaceship captains, lost hitchhikers, princesses with wacky haircuts, time-traveling physicians, absent-minded bounty hunters—humans, androids, furry creatures, amphibious types or any combination. They come here to rest, relax or maybe close a shady transaction in a private meeting room.

One night, a rowdy crowd gathers to hear the cantina band. The music stops suddenly when a body, spattered with what looks like blood, floats past the viewscreen. Fishface has been killed! He must have been ejected into space from the closest airlock, and no one had access except the people in this room. One of YOU is a murderer!

The Holy Angels Parish invites you to join them in some summer fun at their annual Parish Picnic and Family Festival. NEW this year is a full entertainment stage with country music’s Clark Manson capping off an amazing day of fun at 9:00 p.m.

This family friendly event will include food, beer tent, games, kids entertainment, and much more! Grab your friends and family and join us for a great day of fun, family and music.

This event is free and open to the public.

Make plans to attend the celebration of Shelby County’s 200th birthday! The evening will include remarks by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and a performance by the Shelby County Bicentennial Choir.

Free Admission, however TICKETS ARE REQUIRED and seating is limited.
