Bicentennial Events
This game commemorates the most significant local sports achievement of Sidney’s 200 years, 30 straight football wins during the three perfect seasons of 1968/69/70. Team members will be introduced at the game with Tipp City.

This open-air concert will feature the Wright Patterson Air Force Band of Flight Rock Band on the lawn of the Shelby County Courthouse. The Band of Flight Rock Band is a 7-member ensemble that provides top-notch, high-energy entertainment for the whole family. This exciting rock band with a full horn section demonstrates the hallmarks of quality, innovation and entertainment. Gather the family and bring your lawn chairs for this sure to be enjoyable performance.

Join the Village of Ft. Loramie in this annual celebration of German Heritage. Great German food, music, and fun! This year the festival welcomes back Talbach Musikanten, an authentic German band from the Black Forest Region. Also, be sure to check out the living history presentation by Rusty Cottrel as he portrays Black Hoof.

The Bicentennial Ball will bring to a close the 200thanniversary celebration of Shelby County Ohio and usher in the 200th anniversary celebration of Sidney Ohio. This glamorous evening will feature live music, dancing, heavy hors d’oeuvre, and an abundance of community fellowship. Historical displays will adorn the historic Shelby County Courthouse. Formal attire is suggested.

Presented by the Fort Loramie Historical Association, this show will highlight the Native American artifact finds in Shelby County. On display will be a wide variety of artifacts from the surrounding area including arrowheads, pottery, stone tools, military items and more. A special presentation by Greg Shipley entitled “Searching for General Wayne’s 1795 Fort Loramie Depot” will take place at 1:00 p.m. In addition, Ken Sowards will discuss the archaeological importance of the Loramie site highlighting finds of local collectors in the Shelby County area.
