The Shelby County Genealogical Society and the Shelby County Historical Society proudly welcome Erin Pence. She will present the story of 69 people forced to leave their home in Baden, Germany, who relocated to the United States in 1855. Erin, an avid researcher of genealogy and local history, serves as the University Photographer for Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio.

Lake Loramie Heritage Museum Free Pontoon Boat Rides

Historic Pontoon Boat Rides of Lake Loramie will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11. The event will take place at Earl’s Island Pavilion, State Route 362, in Lake Loramie State Park.

The rides will take approximately 45 minutes and will feature the original purpose of the lake, how it was formed and the various landings around the lake.

The Lake Loramie Heritage Museum, will be open from 1-4 p.m. and is free and open to the public as well. Stop in and see photos of nesting Eagles and their offspring, as well as some of the more unusual birds and wildlife observed at Lake Loramie.
