Come enjoy the movie, Stand By Me at the Historic Sidney Theatre.

After learning that a stranger has been accidentally killed near their rural homes, four Oregon boys decide to go see the body. On the way, Gordie Lachance (Wil Wheaton), Vern Tessio (Jerry O’Connell), Chris Chambers (River Phoenix) and Teddy Duchamp (Corey Feldman) encounter a mean junk man and a marsh full of leeches, as they also learn more about one another and their very different home lives. Just a lark at first, the boys’ adventure evolves into a defining event in their lives.

preHoliday Shop Hop

The Angels in the Attic Craft Show, Sidney Visitors Bureau, Sidney Alive, and the Sidney-Shelby County Chamber of Commerce are working together to organize a “Shop Hop” of specialty stores and boutiques in the Sidney area.  The “Shop Hop” will run in conjunction with the Angels in the Attic Craft Show, an annual event held at Ross Historical Center in downtown Sidney.

HOW IT WORKS:  Customers will pick up a “Shop Hop” card at any of the participating businesses.  The customer will then need to visit a predetermined number of specialty shops between November 6th and November 9th.  Once you have met the requirement, he/she will turn in their card and be entered into a drawing for a grand prize valued at $500.

If you love a challenge this activity is for you!!!  Escape rooms are the new craze you won’t want to miss out on!!

There are six rooms and three mysteries available.  The mysteries are set in the Wild West, an FBI safe house and a school.

Time slots can be reserved for Fridays from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturdays from 12:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  The rooms will also be open on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 15th.  Reservations can be made online at http://escapesidneyoh.simplybook.me or by calling (937)638-4586.  Admission is $15.00 per person per mystery.  Reservations are encouraged, but not required.

Will Gerda be able to free Kai from the evil witch’s spell?

The Shelby County Historical Society welcomes you to their annual Open House. Nothing says Christmas like the aroma of chestnuts roasting over an open fire and popcorn for tree trimming! Children and their families can decorate gingerbread houses made with graham crackers and make ornaments. Families can watch pottery and woodcarving demonstrations. Enjoy an exhibit of Christmas trees decorated by area students and a model train display.
